Breast Augmentation With Fat Transfer at a Discount at Shu Cosmetic Surgery Institute

Dr. Steven Shu of Shu Cosmetic Surgery Institute in Edina, Minn. talked about the innovative procedure during a “Be Well with TLC” segment on the show “Twin Cities Live,” which caters to viewers in Minneapolis and St. Paul. Shu said patients can expect some swelling during the first few weeks after surgery. After six to nine months, however, the newly augmented breasts settle into their best shape and fullness. At that time, if the breasts are not large enough, a woman can elect to add more fat, Shu said.

Women who want larger breasts but not the artificial look or health risks of breast implants are turning to breast augmentation with fat transfer. This minimally invasive procedure uses liposuction to transfer fat from other areas of a woman’s body to her breasts. The result is a fuller bosom that looks natural and contains only natural material.

After removing fat tissue from fatty regions of a woman’s body, such as her thighs, stomach, back or buttocks, the cosmetic surgeon places the fat in a machine designed to harvest cells. The cells are then mixed with additional fat; that mixture is injected into the patient’s breasts. Since this fat comes directly from the patient, there is no risk of her body rejecting the tissue, as is sometimes the case with implants using foreign materials. The combination of liposuction with breast augmentation means that the woman’s overall figure is enhanced by fat removal from problem areas. Slimmer woman may have to gain weight before having a breast augmentation with fat transfer.

Those interested in trying the procedure for themselves can do so at a discount from now until the end of August. The Shu Cosmetic Surgery Institute in is offering free consultations and a 10 percent discount to prospective patients mentioning the special code “Twin Cities Live” when they call to schedule appointments.
