Nonsurgical Rhinoplasty with Fillers | Minnesota

The rhinoplasty surgery is one of the most popular types of cosmetic surgeries in America, however there can be a few risks involved in going through this surgery, such as bleeding and infection. Moreover, many patients who have a traditional rhinoplasty are not happy with their surgical outcome. Dr. Shu has been offering the nonsurgical rhinoplasty with fillers over the past few years and gained a lot of experience.

Nonsurgical rhinoplasty procedure uses safe and effective derma fillers to correct minor aesthetic issues with a patient’s nose. Patients who aren’t pleased with the appearance of their noses, but don’t want to undergo a surgical procedure, will benefit from this approach. Nonsurgical rhinoplasty is also an excellent alternative to revisal surgeries as they are more affordable and take less time.

It’s not the best option if significant structural problems need to be addressed. If the patients are not sure if nonsurgical rhinoplasty is a good option for them, a demonstration preview of the non-surgical rhinoplasty option with a saline injection will be performed. The patients can make their decision once the before and after pictures are reviewed.

During a nonsurgical rhinoplasty, Dr. Shu uses one of two injectable dermal fillers – Radiesse or Juvederm – to reduce the appearance of bumps or make a curved nose appear straighter. The process is relatively painless, quick and comes with no downtime. Patients can usually return to their normal activity immediately after receiving the injections.

Despite nonsurgical rhinoplasty being affordable and non-invasive, there is a drawback to dermal fillers. They will have to be done once a year (Radiesse may last up to two years), as they do not produce permanent results.

Shu Cosmetic Surgery Offers Blunt Tip Needle for Painless, Bruise-free Dermal Filler Injections

Filler injection is among the most common non-surgical facial rejuvenation procedures in Minnesota. Traditionally, the procedure requires the use of sharp beveled hypodermal needle. It is typically painful while injecting in the facial skin, especially when a large volume of filler is used or when used in sensitive areas such as the lips because it is cutting through the skin and tissue. It also could potentially cut through small blood vessels which can cause bruising.

With the introduction of a blunt tip needle, also called a microcannula, it is possible to have a near painless and bruise-free procedure. Blunt tip needles for filler injections are similar to regular needles, but they are longer and more flexible, and they have blunt tips and ports on the sides allowing the filler to be distributed more evenly.
There are many advantages of a blunt tip needle for filler injections.

• Less pain: traditional filler injections need numerous needle sticks, but blunt tip needles need only two entry points for a typical filler injection. A longer, more flexible needle with a blunt tip is able to reach much larger areas.

• Bruise-free: The beauty of the blunt tip is it allows the needle to easily steer its way around blood vessels instead of cutting through them with traditional needles.

• More skin rejuvenation: Mechanical stimulation caused by the needle’s back-and-forth movement induces micro-trauma in local tissue, which stimulates fibroblast to produce new collagen and stimulates platelets to release growth factors.

The patients in Minneapolis and St Paul are thrilled that they can feel less pain and can say goodbye to bruises after injections. For more information on painless, bruise-free filler injections with blunt tip needles, please call 952-922-9999.
