Because the AquaShape Liposuction with Body-Jet® procedure is safer and more gentle than traditional liposuction procedures, patients will experience a smoother and less stressful procedure day and post-procedure period.
Most patients only need local anesthesia, which limits the medical risk and post-operative discomfort associated with general anesthesia. Some may choose to take anti-anxiety medication to increase comfort during the procedure.
Prior to the procedure, your doctor will mark the areas that you wish to have treated before numbing the skin and making a tiny incision to create access to the fat layer. Numbing fluid will be infused through this incision and is usually painless. Your doctor will then gently wash away the targeted fat in both the deep fat compartment and the area right under the skin, using a powerful spray that will also promote skin tightening in the surrounding areas.
The procedure typically takes about 30 to 45 minutes for each treated area, and patients are usually discharged within 15 minutes after finishing the procedure. Most are able to return to regular activities immediately.
