Katie McClellan, PA-C
Has been a board certified physician assistant since 2008. We welcomed Katie to our practice in the beginning of 2012 and she has been a great addition to our team. Katie’s true passion has always been in the field of medical cosmetic procedures. She is a certified laser technician for the Sciton laser and has mastered skills in Botox, Radiesse and Juvederm injections as well as all skin care treatments provided at our med spa. Her passion for medical and cosmetic procedures and treatments is evident as she works with her patients.
Katie received her Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant studies from Nova Southeastern University Florida, and her Bachelors of Arts degree in Biology from St. Mary’s University in Minnesota. Katie has a background in orthopaedic surgery and family medicine. Katie is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), American Association of Surgical Physician Assistants (AASPA), and Minnesota Academy of Physician Assistants (MAPA).
In her spare time, Katie takes pleasure in staying active and spending time with her friends and family. She enjoys playing hockey and snowboarding during the winter months and in the summer she loves to fish, boat, and exercise.
Sonya Stelmachuk, Esthetician
A true veteran in her field, Sonya has been working in skin care since 2000. After receiving her initial training in Esthiology at the Aveda Institute in Minneapolis, she went on to earn her paramedical certification in 2003 at the Image Skin Care Institute in Houston, Texas. In September 2009, she took the Laser Course and Laser Safety class at the College of International Esthetics in Arvada, Colorado. Sonya also received hands-on training with Dr. del la Torre at her clinic in Colorado.
Sonya has been working for Dr. Steven Shu since November 2009. In this time, she has acquired cutting edge skills in advanced laser treatment, including the latest techniques using the Sciton Laser and BBL systems, Smooth Shapes system for cellulite and circumfirential reduction, and the Aerolase 1064 and Erbium lasers. With her background in esthiology and advanced knowledge in laser treatments, Sonya is confident in her ability to improve the appearance of your skin through both laser treatments and home maintenance using advanced medical skin care products. In addition to her experience with laser and BBL, Sonya holds a strong background in chemical peels and microdermabrasion.
Caring and gentle, Sonya strives to provide the best customer service, in addition to making people look and feel like a million bucks. As someone who is genuinely passionate about her work, she aims to make your treatments as comfortable and relaxing as possible.
Jenny Zhen, Esthetician
Jenny has received professional training in laser cosmetic procedures. She attends a variety of professional cosmetic courses and has been trained in laser safety. Jenny is well-practiced and excels in using cutting edge lasers such as the state-of-the- art Sciton, Aerolase 1064, and Erbium. Jenny’s cosmetic expertise includes SkinMedica, Vivier, Neocutis and Obagi ‘s fundamental skin care courses.
Jenny graduated from Zhengshou Medical University in China with a medical doctorate degree related to our clinical practice. Jenny has a solid comprehensive medical background with 14 years of clinical experience. She is medically intuitive and knowledgeable with laser therapies, broad band light therapies, and various skin care products, topics, and concerns.
Personally, Jenny is very caring and patient and works with carefulness and delicateness. She is proficient with Mandarin and is happy to answer any questions you may have regarding skin care.
